Default New Battery?

its time for a new battery, apparently the one i had was rated for 700 cca, and well it read 150 CCA!! LOL... what do you guys prefer? or what would you go with?.. Are optima batteries really worth it? and if so yellow or red top?

i would recommend optima ive used and been satisfied,
yellow or red depending on wht your doing lol

red top:High voltage, short duration “bursts” of power when cranking the motor
Put another way: Big-time cranking amps with only a little discharge because the motors starts and the alternator quickly takes over

yellow: Starting, like the red top,Continuous or long periods of high demand, high power usage
Put another way: Crank it, over power your alternator, drain it, then let your charging system catch up. Repeat. This up-down, repeated cycling is what yellow tops are made for

over all go with yellow top, little more extra out of your pocket but you get more for it

when i looked into replacing mine, i was turned away from optima batteries.. even by the guys selling them at a Car/Home Audio store. So i just went to toyota and bought the biggest one for the sc400. fits fine and is like 850 or 900 CCA.
(Although canadian rated ones may be higher for weather ionno)

ive used both and red > yellow. kinetik and braille are awesome too.

thats exactly what i was gunna say... kinetik to me is wayyyy better then optima... and they have a better warranty even though u wont need it.

dude I remember when Optima batteries were only $120 tops...now I see them for around $200. Times have changed.
