Default Yellow Top overkill...huh?

I have one Memphis 1000d and 2 ALUM 10q. They hit hard. I know I need a new battery cause the lights dim. A yellow, Blue or Red top is the question. I heard a Yellow is overkill if your not running serious wattage. I did do a search.

I certainly don't run a high draw setup, but its nice to know the juice is there.

I think they are all about the same price anyways.

Overkill? Naw. 2 batteries in a low draw system would be overkill I bet. I dunno for sure.

To help you situation is simple. You can never go wrong with the Yellow top. To help the light klicker get a BatCap. They start at the price of a 1 or 1.5 Farad Capacitor, but are = to 10 to 100 1 farad caps. These things are really amazing!!! They are not really larger than a stiff cap either. New,, better technology.

that'd be a battery cap..if it's the same thing im thinking of, they are available at almost any mainstream electronics store, like circuit city and best buy. Looks like a large A series battery.

Yes that is a regular cap you are talking about. He said his is equal to 10 to 100 1 farad caps. Sounds like hi-tech or something. Adding a yellow top is like adding 6 caps to your system. Spend 120 for a cap or 120 for a yellow top.

I got the yellow top on Thurs. I ordered it on Wed. Very fast shipping. Still dimms a little. I had to use a stack of washers to lock it down until I get a sealed block to put under it.

Get a BatCap and you will be set!!!!! A BatCap is NOT a regular Stiff capacitor. These are small sealed batteries that hold a tremendous ammount of reserves. Check the link here! http://www.batcap.net/ If interested you can contact me for more information. I recommend the 400! 1 is awesome and 2 is unbeleivable. These things are smaller than a SC and provide rediculous reserves. The discharge as fast as a SC, but are a little slower at recharge. You can crank a car over with their reserve. Try that with a SC. I had 15 SC configured and the start went tick and that was it. These are more than worth it. Over at .net, I had a member that his large Kicker amp would draw so much that not only would the lights dim, but the voltage in the car would drop so low the amp would shut off due to low voltage. He really needs a new charging system to deal with the current draw, but I recommended a BatCap 400 to try. He agreed and to his astonishment the lights still flicker, but the amp no longer protects due to low voltage. All this in a little battery just bigger than a soda can!!!! This is TODAYS SC!!!

Does a bat cap go inline with the main batt or replace it?

I have an optima blue top. I have had it for about 1.5 years. The blue top has the largest capacity.

If you go to the site they have a diagram of how you should hook it up. http://www.batcap.net/
