what is your goal?

the L7 will be louder, cause that's what kicker is good at...being loud

+1 for elemental designs.

lots of other brands>kicker>rockford.
the kickers are good. kind of one note wonders though... rockfords don't ahve the quality they used to.
Elemental designs, RE, Adire, Treo are all excellent subs to look into.

ED for sure man. I ran an 18 inch ED sub in my camry before i sold the car. That thing was sick coupled with their 1200 watt nine.1 amp. Shame I never got to finish it before I sold the car. Still debating on what i should do with the 2 18's and the amp. lol. They wont fit my SC

Please write a review if you use it as a free air stock replacement.

Others include Dayton (especially the RS series) from Parts Express, Fi Car Audio, Ascendant Audio, Sound Solutions Audio, Digital Designs, Cactus Sounds, Audioque, Sundown, Audiopulse, Exodus Audio from DIY Cable, AE Speakers, Aura Sounds, Image Dynamics and Creative Sound Solutions (Canada). There are a lot of choices without ever getting into the mainstream brands. These all have different applications from pure sound quality to pure SPL and all things in between.

And Adire has been out of business for quite some time now. DIY cable has taken up selling updated versions of their old lineup. For example, the Shiva-X is a 12" sub with XBL^2 technology. Support for older Adire products is being handled by Creative Sound Solutions with a trade-in program or Fi Car Audio by offering recone kits.

So, which one sounds better as a free-air, JL 10IB4 or ED SQ10?

Thanks

My goals for sound are like this truck i heard the other night. I tried to ask the guy what they were but he walked into the store b4 i could. The truck pulled up behind me and my buddies and with all the windows up i could hear rediculous loud clean bass thats what i want! Very loud and clean. I dont have the money for W7s or anything like that i prolly only have about 350 max for the woofer.

pick something from the list that robert j posted or mine. get a good box built for them and some good clean power and you'll have what you want. you don' tneed w7's. some of thsoe on that list are every bit as good or better than w7's.
look for about 500w rms per sub.
