Default Deck Installation Help for 1992 SC300

I have spent the last several days looking over this forum to find my answers and I'm just not finding them, so I thought I'd ask here.

I am just about ready to put my Alpine IVA-D900 flip out DVD screen into my SC3. I have the wiring harness with the two sets of RCA inputs on it from the previous owner. I plan on going with a much bigger setup eventually, but I'm ok with just using the stock amp(s) for now. If I understand correctly, I just need to get the deck powered and then use the RCA outputs on the deck for the rest of that wiring harness correct?

My other problem is what did you use to install the deck? I mean there is no install kit or anything so what did you buy or use to cover up the unused space? My deck is only a single DIN so I'm kinda lost as to what to use to take up the remaining space.

Thanks

there is no kit made for this car u have to make it look at my other post and see what i did, on a 92 they are not amped only the sub is amped, the speakers are internally amped from the deck, so it should just be a toyota wiring harness and if u want to power the sub get a set of rca's cut off the end on one side and tag it to the sub wire's there should be a diagram to tell u what wires are for sub

Well without trying to doubt your knowledge of the SC300, unfortunately in this situation you are wrong. I went and bought the generic Toyota harness and it doesn't work at all. It has two individual plugs and they do both hook up to SC harnesses behind the dash, but provide no power and no speaker signal at all.

I then purchased the harness that autotoys sells with the two pairs of RCA wires built into it and with hooking those up and the remote turn on wire via that harness, I now have power and noise coming out of the speakers. So it would appear to me that my car does in fact have amplifiers that are not internally amplified via the deck. I am not using any of the speaker wires coming out of the deck and I have sound so either my car is a 92 that somehow got an amp, or maybe all 92's got that. But the autotoys harness did work perfectly for my car.

Now if I could just get rid of the buzzing and humming sound. Oh well, another weekend project

I'm not sure about your buzzing sound out of your speakers.. I had my system done by a audio shop. But, as for the remaining space i used a universal CD compartment and a piece of audio trim for the head unit instillation.
