Default What brand tint do you use?

I'm trying to figure out which brand of tint is best for Lexus cars with an antenna in the rear window. The 3 brands I was debating about are Llumar, Madico, & Solar Guard. All three have metal in them & I hear they sometimes interfere with AM reception. So I was just curious what people have had good luck with. I found two shops that were referred by two different Lexus dealers and they both use Madico. Of course, these two guys are also a lot more expensive then others that use Llumar or Solar Guard.

Guyver510,

I use 3M. No problems with reception. I use the same tint all around the vehicle.

gsnav, you mention you use Madico, but isn't Quantum 35% made by Solar Guard? Just wondering.

I was told by an installer that as far as nav is concerned, Lexus used to put it's antennas in the trunk & metallic-based tint used to really mess up the accuracy. They supposedly learned their lesson & started putting them in the dash (don't know how long ago). For your problem though, you have to find a tint with very little or no metal (which means dye) or ceramic. Dye is the cheaper stuff that turns purple & ceramic is a newer technology, but is more expensive than metal. While I'm at it, for those that don't know, metallic tint also messes with your AM reception. So if you like talk radio or news or traffic reports (like I do), then you have to be concerned about tint as well.
