Window tinting question
Does anybody know where this antenna is? I know its embedded in the glass but where?
Also, I heard that titanium tint is the best. Is this a metallic tint?
What % should I get it at? I am currently planning 15% all around. I want it dark but not dark enough so that its hard to see at night and that I will constantly get pulled over. I know a lot of people get their front windows tinted and have problems, but a lot of people DON'T have problems w/the cops. Post your % tint even if you dont have any comments so I can get a feel for what's out there.
Im either gonna go w/the titanium tint that is recommended by a friend, or the solarguard one. I also heard from my friend that it will be ~$170. Is this correct.
Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Titanium is a metal the last time I checked

15% is mighty dark - good luck. Front windshield tinting is illegal in many (most?) states.
Price seems reasonable.
i do not knwo of any shop that is open on sunday for tint. unless you know any mobile tint man whom you have appoinment already.
two solutions:
1.ask the tint guy to make a cut so that the antenna is not covered.
2.get a Clarion antenna. call 1800 go clarion, choose option 3, ask for Roberto, ~$25 for the antenna.
either Titanium or Platnium, both are good metalic film. make sure the shop use one SINGLE piece for the rear wind shield. some shop might qquote you low price but use 2 pieces for the back to save cost, no good
solarguard, like 3M, is a brand name. and they both have titanium film that are good quality. i see you are in S.cal. our families have been going to this shop in sanGabriel for many years, and he uses the brand you mentioned. he tinted my dad's big ls400 for $150, titanium. let me know if you want to go there.
for % of shade, i recommend:
grey interior- 35% max
blk interior - 50% max,
i prefer classic, subtle shade. 15%, you are taking big chance, especially there sooo many sheriffs constabtly crusing diamond bar blvd, not worth the ticket. also if you see the cops around, turn down the music and act goodie, do not try to attract attention, you would be fine.
can u give me the name and $ for that shop? i was recommended the tint man in walnut. it seems that i have confused the % tint in my head. im thinking the lower the #, the lighter it is. i guess the opposite is true? can you explain this % tint thing to me?
does your dad's ls400 tint have kind of a reflective, mirrored, or metallic look to it? thats the look im goin for. also, how long does it take to get done? i want it done before the meet and im busy all week! bitkahuna,
yes, it has the symbol Ti. smart a$$.
the # is 626-458-1233, KOOLTINT, 913 W.Las Tunas Dr.,
ask for Bernie, he is the owner. tell him william with the LS400 and camry send you there. the only prob is that he is closed on sundays. he uses reflective, titanium metalic film. i like the mirrored look too. Bernie charged me $150 for the LS, $125 for camry for full tint. i think GS sould be in between. it takes ~3 hours, and i would not rush this kind of job.
the higher the %, the more light goes intothe car. i would NEVER do anything below 35%. forget 15%, you are asking for TICKET.
Walnut's TINTMAN has a lot of business i think, but he is more expensive. last time he quoted me $180 for the LS.
The place I went for tint, all they gave me was like light, medium, and dark, and limo. I don't know what percent mine is. I used light in front and medium for rear sides and back. I guess that's about, 50% front and 40% or 35% in the back.
P.S.
