Greetings. I'm new to the board, and I have a 1992 LS400 that I got used a couple years ago. I'm having a strange problem. Sometimes when it rains, the sound suddenly goes out on the stereo. The stereo is still on and shows no visible signs of a problem. It doesn't matter if it's the CD player, radio, or tape player. I have found that I can hear what is playing if I turn the volume up as high as it will go, but it is very faint. It comes back just as suddenly after a while. I think it may be a problem with the amplifier, but I know virtually nothing about car audio. I have also noticed that I hear some static cutting in and out while the sound is gone. I don't know if this is related, or if I have a separate problem there. If anyone has had a similar problem or knows a solution, please respond. Thanks.
