need help with aftermarket amp install
ive searched, but i havent had any luck on anyone giving tips and tricks on how to slip in the power line through the firewall for the amp (from engine bay to trunk). all ive read is how hard it is, and that it is tricky. they dont give u any hints or tips on how to do it.
so here it goes, i have an 92 ls400. im trying to install an aftermarket amp so it can power my new aftermarket 12" sub. however, i can not find a place to wire through the power line for the amp on the firewall. i was just wondering if anyone with aftermarket amps and subs can tell me how to do it. and which side they r runing the wire through. because i tired going from the main harness, but thats on the passanger side (opposite side of the battery), and there doesnt seem to be a good spot on the driverside to wire in the power line. also what wires did u tap in for the "remote" for the amp. thanks.

They said there's a opening under the driver side seat. I used a Drill and just drilled a hole in the firewall. I ran a 1/0 gauge thro it. Not very hard just takes alot of time, be careful not to drill into the brake fluid pump tho.
As for the remote if ur using ur stock radio u can just tape a wire into the Radio 2 fuse in the fuse box.

Same here,, have a 92 but it was installed by Circuit City. They just pulled the insulation back from the firewall on the drivers side and drilled a new hole. to run the power wire through. Took quite a bit of time. Had mine tapped into my stock radio (just havent replaced the headunit yet). My power wire runs along the drivers side of the car under the carpet, all the way back to my trunk area.
