I am about to replace the stock radio in my 92 sc300. Was wondering if anyone knows of a place i can get the wiring adaptor to install a aftermarket unit. If so do you have a part number? I have heard rumors that there is a plug that allows you to retain the factory amp. In time i will get new amps and speakers and all that crap, but my radio just went out and i am about to go crazy driving without music.
THanks

The amp I have no idea. Search and you may be able to find the wiring diagram, but i don't think its worth the effort.
Thats a standard Toyota harness which may plug in but it WILL NOT WORK - Well, at least at the head unit it won't. The easiest and cheapest way to run a deck would be to run a set of new speaker wires from the new deck to the amp in the trunk. Take the speaker outputs from the amp and tap into those from the deck. Alternatively, wire new speaker wires directly from the deck to the speakers.
Unfortunately neither method will allow use of the factory sub.
If you want to keep the factory amp, figure out which wires go to which speakers and splice together an RCA to speaker wire connector (assuming your new radio has preamp outputs). Good luck!
Radio lost its FM frequency. It comes and goes depending on the weather outside. I replaced the antenna and it didnt help. But i bought a JVC double din touchscreen/dvd player so its all good. Should be here in a few days.
I'm guessin this is so you can retain the factory amp. it says 92- and up lexus's
Yea when i was at the stereo store down the street they said that i should be able to retain the stock amp with this plug. So once the radio gets here i will let you know if it works or not.
The intergraded harness is the one that works best. If you get a radio that has a sub out on it you can wire RCA ends on the sub input which is the little plug toward the top. There is a black and white wire in the plug that will control the sub. Black is pos. This way you can control the sub instead of loosing it.

Thanks,
I should be getting the radio tomorrow in the mail. I will try it and see what happens.

Well the radio's in and sound's great. THanks for the heads up on the sub hookup. Amps and new speakers coming soon.
So it worked?? You still have use of your sub?? Will this work on the GS300? I just had a Kenwood DDX-6019 installed today and I bought 2 different integrated wire harnesses. Both the 70-8112 and 70-8113. Neither worked so they used standard toyota harness and did the amp bypass. I hate the way it sounds now without the sub. Somebody help!!! lol

Wont work on the GS. Different setup to deal with.

Yes it did work on my car 1992 sc300. But i am not sure if it will work on yours. I am sure there is a way to wire it in there.
