Can I hook up the illumination wire from my deck to the ACC or battery wire?

 

you can but the lights will always be dim on the deck. just find the wire that gave the power (more of a signal saying the lights are on) to the stock deck. or use the wire that turns on and off with the light switch either on the deck wire bundle or the ashtray.. doing it the way you say will not help at all..
