Need Some Help Building
I just purchased two 12'' type-r's and would like to place them in my 93 lexus gs300 any idea on what box i can use?i am looking more in the line of spl but not lose sq is it possible?
The best answer we can give you is "maybe". First, I'm not sure how large your trunk is. Second, there's thousands of possbilities when you build your own box. You can make it any dimension that you want as long as the interior volume is kept the same. This box is close to the size you are looking at.

i think those are for 15'' ,i am asking for whom ever has this setup already done to please come foward with some answers to my questions, lol if you do not know then why post?and i do not want to buy a pre frab box i am asking for help so i can build it on my own, any ideas?as far as the trunk space what can i say its a 93 gs300 and the trunk is empty.
I'm trying to get you to get up, grab a tape measure and measure your trunk. If you are going to limit your replies to owners of '93 model GS 300's or owners of Alpine subs, then you aren't going to get many answers.
And if you cut the holes 11" in diameter, then you can mount 12's in it. As you said, the recommended box size is 4.5cf. Shave a few inches off of one end and you will get your 4.5cf box. By not chaning the port length of the smaller box, you will end up with an Fb (box tuning frequency) of around 32 to 34 hz.
If you PM me your address, I'll send you a keyboard with a working Shift key.
