Default Pls help!!

I just bought 2 15inch subs and I'm deciding whether I should return it for 12s instead. The box barely fits in the car and the subs are facing up since I can't tilt the box to face towards the back. Someone told me, in order to get quality, it needs a lot of space around the box. Is this true? and if its ok to leave my 15s, what are some negative things that I should watch out for?? does the trunk rattle alot when its kickin.. and does anything get lose??? I know these are some stupid questions, but I don't really know much about systems. Any help would appreciated. thanks!!

I think You should go with Ten inch subs. I think 15 are just too much bass. I don't think it will sound great with the 15's. My suggestion is to go to a reputable car stereo store and ask them what is the best for what you want. They can help you out more.

A lot of people tend to go overkill on their stereos...2x 15's in a IS is just plain ridiculous. 1x 12" should be more than enough...you should also post this in the Electronic secion...

I LIKE BASS! I wish that I had two 15's in my trunk! But I do have 2 12" Fosgate XlC's in a sealed Box. The box is just small enough to fit up on the little ledge right behind the seat. I have the speakers firing backwards and with the hole in the backseat armrest open it thumps hard. I have a kenwood 600 watt amp that is bridged to the speakers. Interestingly enough the trunk hardly rattles at all. Lexus trunks are made so air tight that I decided that I didn't even need to dynamat the trunk. The only problem I had was the red plastic plate that covers the third brake light rattled out. No big deal. If I was you I would have a new smaller box built for my 15's so they could have room to fire toward the rear of the trunk and reflect back through the hole into the cab. It can be done. There is a girl somewhere on IS300forum.com that has 2 15's just like I said. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for all the help!! I traded my 15s for the 12s instead, and the 12s fit perfectly between the space right behind the back seats like what caliluv said. I just thought 15s were just too big, unless I get the box custom built which I won't do until later when I actually have money to buy the good stuff. Well thanks again!!
