Default Japanese Head Units

If I am already running an aftermarket head unit in my SC300 would it be a pretty simple install to do a japanese head unit? What are something I should expect besides the whole FM freq. situation?

there's no real reason to put a japanese headunit in a US car, it's like trying to use a cell phone from japan over here. sure it's cool but throw functionality out the window. If you want to get close to the japanese experience put an Eclipse AVN2454 in the car, it has the volume on the righthand side.

Did you not read my post right above yours? It has nothing to do with trying to be JDM. It has to do with the fact that I do not want to spend 1500-2000 on a double din DVD/NAVIGATION and whatever other feature I will hardly use in the 30 minutes I drive to work and school. I would like a double din CD player, that is all. When I search on ebay, a lot of Japanese head units come up. Alpine and Pioneer both offer more double din head units overseas then are offered here. Again, not trying to be king JDM, i could care less. Hopefully that explains it a little better.

Besides the whole FM thing, some menus will be in English & some will be in Japanese. Also, the manual will be in Japanese too....but you could easily get some of that translated to English to help you out.

I think that should be it.

I know im setting myself up to get flamed but has anyone had any experience with some of the not so big name brand dvd players on ebay. Im talking about all these ones you see for under 400 that seem to have every possible option that even some of the big name ones do not. I have seen some with USB, MD, SD all sorts of little features. The only thing I really require is a good EQ. My question is, does anyone have any experience with any of the PYLE, VALOR, or LEGACY head units or even know anyone who does?

get the kenwood dpx701 for your double din if you don't want a screen in your car. but might as well spend the money for one, pioneer avicd2.

If i spend the money I will just get the new one when it comes out. I think im just going to send the head unit I have off to get fixed. Its a Pioneer and it looks good in there and HOPEFULLY I will not have to spend too much on getting it repaired.
