Thumbs up They'll Fit

Cash - I have the same Diamond's ( 6.5" HEX series - actual mounting depth is 2 1/8" ) in my front doors & the Diamond 8" HEX midbass driver in the rear doors so I know firsthand that they'll fit. The front's will be close but the 6.5's have plenty of clearance in the rear doors. U'll need to construct a baffle of MDF to mount them into & also a spacer ring to provide window clearance. Nice speakers!

MDF stands for Medium Density Fiberboard (excellent for building speaker enclosures with)

Question Same Ones - Maybe?

Cash - Mine R also gray/silver in color ( S6.0m HEX series ). My 2001 Diamond Audio catalog still shows a 2 1/8" mounting depth for all their 6.5" drivers - not sure what's happened here.
Ikon - Ron's defintion's correct & it's the top choice of installers for enclosures & baffles because it's a non-resonating wood.

The diamonds changed after 1999......mine use the black basket,1999 series,.....the difference is the 2000+ models don't use the very deep and large magnet....3 1/2 to 4" from top of the speaker to the bottom....VERY deep......

I would love to use these speakers but I need to know if they will fit.....

You have enough clerance in your doors to install most speakers on the market. You need to find a speaker that works best in a free air aplication. You see, speakers will fit fine, however you can forget having any kind of enclosure behind it since it would be on the way of the window opening mechanism (all lexuses have this problem).

I tried fitting enclosures behind my Rainbows and I could not get it even with the use of varial vents (they immitate additional space in an enclosure). You might have some luck with shallow speakers though!

As far as your rear chanel goes, you can have 4" drivers there since the rear chanel is not needed as long as you have a nice setup up front.

I guess I'm a true amateur, because I always bought the material from "radio shack" or my local hardware store to make baffles/sub boxes in the past...

Thanks for the response...
