Default Antenna Problem

The antenna on my 95 sc400 wont go down unless I tap it on the top. You can hear the motor working but it needs a little help to get started when retracting. It goes up fine and doesn't look bent. I tried lubing it up with WD40 but that didn't help.

Any suggestions? It is annoying to have to jump out of the car after I turn it off to get the antenna started. The motor makes a lot of noise when it is trying to retract but is stuck.

all ideas appreciated

Default it's antenna mast problem....

u gotta change the antenna mast~ if u buy the mast from e-bay it's about 14.99 plus shipping.. it's not bad~~ but!! before order that take out the antenna mast and check the mast.. if it worned out bad.. there is a posibility that motor gear tip worn out too... but most likely the mast is the problem... just get it.. put the new one in.. it takes about 1~2 minutes to take it.. good luck!!

Make sure the length is right (mine wasn't, had to open the housing twice)
when you remove the old antenna and cable, match the length or you get a lovely grinding noise when the antenna is fully extended.
