Default Navigation update question....

I have an update DVD for my navigation (4.1) for my 02 GS (version 1) and I noticed that the DVD has a nice little scratch on it and I want burn a back-up just in case I come across some issues when I load this one.

Now for the questions:

Do I need to use a dual-layer DVD (8.5G Capacity) to make my back-up?? Do I back it up the same way I back up my DVD movies in which I use the normal DVDr's??

Has anyone succesfully back-up'd there NAV DVD's and had them work flawlessly???

Thanks for the input

AK

Default Nav DVD

This is no different than any other DVD that you burn...

Yes, much sure it is a dual layer DVD & that you burn it with a burner that is capable of burning dual layer DVD's

I have successfully backup up my dual layer DVD for my 2006 Sequoia DVD/Nav System using DVD Shrink ver3.2

or you can use any other ddvd burning software that is capable of handling dual layer DVD's, Nero,Roxio.....etc

I use shrink as well....so you fit the DVD onto a 4.7G single layer disk??? If so...did you have any issues with the Navigations system reading it even though it was shrunk???

Thanks

Sorry to have misled you......you can use Nero or Roxio & do a DVD to DVD Copy......you should use a dual layer disk with a burner capable of handling these types of disk.

Use the newest version of their software...

Dude, is it true? Will a burned DVD disc screw up your navigation system? ? ?

Anyone heard of this before?
