i heard they had some cable that came with it, can some1 explain to me what it exactly does

 

iPods don't come with the cable to link to the car or otherwise. They do come with a USB and/pr Firewire cable to connect to the host computer.

I had to buy a cable to connect my Nano and 20 gig to the car. Look on eBay for iPod cable and see where it gets you.....

 

hes talking about the connection cable that lexus gave out to all the people affected in the recent IS (and maybe GS) recall.

i got a video ipod im gettin rid of and im gonna go look for the "lexus ipod"

 

In the newer cars, there is an Aux in jack in the center console. A cable is made that is basically, 2 male ends of a headphone jack. There's also a cigar lighter plug to power the unit, but in my IS350, there's no way to use it unless the arm rest is tiled up........

 

o nvm itd be no use to me then, 99 gs300 pretty old....hmm ill just wait til i get a unit with ipod inputs or whatever
