Default dvd input on stock screen

I have heard you can install some sort of adapter into the navi monitor of a rx300 and allow it to have dvd an dother video input. Does anybody know how this can be done? or maybe what the best way is to be able to get dvd into the rx.. thanks

There's a product out that allows you to use your stock screen for DVD viewing. I believe it's called NavTv or something of that nature. I believe you use that along with a DVD player and it should work. It's a unit that you splice in to the nav system. I saw it once at my buddy's car audio place, I would suggest talking to a similar place maybe they can give you more specifics. I know it's possible though

I think you need to purchase the rx330 dvd player from Lexus. I'm not sure exactly how it work, but ive seen it on a gs430. It is basically plug and play, no splicing needed. lets hope percy chimes in on this one

There's a few companies that sell a nav interface system which allows you to input DVD or Playstation video to your factory display. I personally have the one from http://www.avelectronic.com and it works great.

i have a lexus dvd changer that plays movies on rx300 screen and requires no 500.00 aftermarket boxes. there is a live ntsc tv tuner dvd movie input on the back of the navigation screen. the changer plays dvds or cds so you wouldnt need to have the glovebox changer.

pop off the whole headunit. the screews are behind the wood accent trim. plug in the 3 tv wires. i have photo directions on the ntsc port pins to tap. the sound comes through the factory audio system by a y conncetor. to the nav system radios 12 pin cd changer port. the non nav rx300 doesnt even have a cd changer port so this only works on navigation systems not the rx300 witrh multidisplay screens. only 3 % of rx300 were made with the navigation option so navigation screen on a rx300 very rare. this lexus dvd movie player only works on the screens that have buttons with names like map. menu , display written on them and are under the screen . if the buttons have no names on the hard buttons it isnt a navigation screen rx300.since your vehicle didnt come with a cd changer possibly someone mislead you that you have the navigation system. its very common for sellers to call the multidisplay screen the navigation screen. in fact most salvage yards advertise them that way.

my car is definetly one with the lexus navigation system. So by purchasing a [insert dvd changer model/car its from here] and plug it into the back of the navi and bam just like that i have dvd capabilities?? That would be awesome. Also, would i be able to use any dvd changer or will it have to be lexus specific?

Thank you

So If I understood you correctly I dont need to buy a video converter to watch video movies on my RX300 with Navigation screen? All I need to do is plug my dvd player behind the Navi screen?
