Hey all, just had my N1 installed yesterday, got it back late night from the shop, so no time for a walk through yet. I had them install the optional voice mic as well, but i can't seem to get it to work. The deck won't let me activate the "auto voice" option, and the little voice icon that is supposed to show up on the screen when voice activation is optional doesn't show up either. I can see the mic in the dash, so does that mean that mabe they forgot to actually connect it? I can't think of what else it could be and i don't know how else to get it to work. Any experience/help to be offered?
did you tell the install guys to ground the system so you wouldn't have to be in park with the parking brake on to get into the setup screens?
try to get to the screens while you're parked and with the parking brake.

I do have to have the car in park, etc..but once i do that i can get to the screens ok, i just can't select the option for auto voice regogntion. it's a different color than the other options and it won't let me select it. the option for voice recog help is on, but there's no icon that shows up on the screens so i don't know when or how to use it. is there another screen or button that i'm missing? If it as working correctly, would I just be able to say "track 10" and the CD would change? nothing works verbally. BUMMER!!!
Auto voice recognition is only for certain prompts. Such as when you first select nav, you can say "ok" to the warning and then either "return home" or "cancel". Otherwise you will need to push the listen button on the remote. You should be able to test the mic by pressing the listen button and saying one of the onscreen prompts, if that works your fine.

Reason: correct my bad spelling
Ok guys, figured it out. The shop that installed it didn't push the connection together all the way. I took out the front ash tray and saw the connection there and it was loose. Everything works now, thanks for your help!!
