Anyone had this problem?...when I plug my cell phone into the cigarette lighter on the floor between the front seats, in my '05 RX, I get interference on the Navigation screen (streaks across the screen). Anyone???

There have been threads on this forum in the past about interference between cell phones and Lexus audio systems but I don't remember Nav systems being mentioned. Specifically, the threads mentioned a "Morse code" sound that came through the audio system when the phone switched between cell towers.

Is there still interference when you plug your phone into a cigarette lighter in the rear seat and keep your phone further away from the Nav/head unit - like on the backseat floor?

A handsfree phone kit/external phone antenna is supposed to reduce interference with the car's audio system because it deactivates the phone's internal antenna when the phone is in the cradle - at least that's how our Nokia kits work.

Yes...it still happens...I get streaks across the screen when I plug the phone in. When I picked up my '05 RX the dealer told me not to use the cigarette lighter on the dash, as it could cause a short. He told me to use the one on the floor between the seats. I'll try using the plug in the back seat. I'm taking the car in for the 5000 mile service so I'll have it checked. I have a feeling this is one of those things that the dealer will blame the phone, and the phone company will blame the car.

Lightbulb Help !

Were you ever able to solve this ? I am having the same issue. I had an aftermarket sub and amp installed last month and ever since my NAV has lines running through it. It only happens on the MAP screen and not the A/C screen for example.
