Default bluetooth handsfree inconsistency

when your phone is connected to the nav screen, and when you receive calls, does the nav screen say 'incoming call' or does it say the caller's ID just like our phone when we have it in our phonebook?

I recently transferred my cell phone phonebook to my IS nav phonebook. when I receive calls, sometimes the screen list the caller ID with the number there, but sometimes it just says 'incoming call'.

This also happens when I'm making calls. sometimes the nav shows who I'm calling and sometimes it just says 'call'

I'm confused. can anyone explain? Does anyone know why?

Mine only comes up with the caller ID (the person's name, not the phone #) if the number is stored in the system's phone book. Otherwise it just says "Incoming Call". I wonder if this has something to do with who your cell phone carrier is (mine is Verizon)

Hmm..I just came back from a drive and there was an incoming call. It shows 'incoming call' when it first rang.. but after I pick up and after a few seconds, the caller ID appears. So, it's sometimes like this, but sometimes when the phone first rang the caller ID is there.. weird.. I want the caller ID to appear when the phone rings so I know who is calling me..

oh btw i'm with cingular AT&T

When your car is in motion, the number does not show. If you are stopped, it will. If the number is in the CAR'S phone book (not the phone's contacts list), I "think" the name will show, but not the number (unless you are stopped).

Yes, this description is exactly right, including the part about the name only showing if it is in the car's phonebook.

To summarize:

Car in motion: Name displayed if a matching entry is found in the car's phonebook. Number not displayed.

Car at rest: Name displayed if a matching entry is found in the car's phonebook. Number displayed if available.

Yes the Name of the caller ( if it is in the car's phonebook) will apear not the number.
if it is not then just an incoming call message will apear without the number

Yes, this has been my experience too.

Mine will show the Name & Number anytime due to the Nav Hack. The only time when I get something unknown, is when I'm playing a DVD and I get phone call. It will bounce the screen to Incoming Call but won't display a name.
