Question Strange issue with Nav/phone display

Hello All,
I recently updated the display upgrade with CarPlay. Ever since that is done, I have a strange display issue.
If the navigation is running and if I get phone call, I have the split screen enabled and I will see the phone controls on the right side(mute, end call etc)
anytime the automatic display of next exit or may comes p in the right side pane, I will lose the phone screen and I have no way to get back to it.
If I am on mute by any chance when that happens, I will not be ablate get back and unmute !!!
Anyone knows how to fix it?

Steps to duplicate are :
1) start navigation
2)start a phone conversation and put it on mute from display
3)either wait until an exit guidance shows on right side or you click the small arrow on the bottom of screen to minimize the right side view and bring it back.
4) at that point it will no longer show the phone controls.
5)if you click media icon(which used to bring the phone controls in my old car) , now it just shows a plain phone icon, but no option to mute or unmute.

Any help is appreciated!

I don't think this has anything to do with the CarPlay update. I've had the same issue since I got my car in Feb '18. I haven't been able to find anything in the documentation that tells you how to get back to the mute/unmute button. I've always had to hang up and call back. I think it's a design flaw, but trying to report it to Lexus as such is basically impossible. They just tell you to report it to one of their "technology specialists" at the dealership. These people know as much about technology as I know about quantum mechanics. These people don't seem to even understand the concept of software and how it works. So unless you need help pairing your phone or programming your garage door remote, save yourself the aggravation.

If anyone does know how to get past or around the front-line support people so we can report issues like this to someone on the product development or management teams, by all means share that info. I've got a laundry list of design issues I've been trying to get in the hands of someone at Lexus who cares, but so far, no luck.

I tried contacting the lexus support as well, and I have the same experience that you are sharing. They have a canned response that talk to dealership. and I don't want to deal with it.
May be when I take it for service next time, will ask them .
I remember using mute button before the upgrade. definitely something changed after upgrade... or I could be remembering how GS used to work. not sure anything more.

Not sure if this helps, but with the latest CarPlay update, you can disable the auto exit info on the right. It was super annoying to have that pop up eveytime you got near an exit.

That's sweet. That was near the top of my list of fixes. I mean seriously, I have a destination set that is 100 miles away, and as soon as I hop on the freeway, it thinks I need to see the next 3 exits??? Genius!
