With the news about the AVN5495 coming soon, does anyone know if there will be a replacement for the CD changer (CH3083)? Is there some news place that we can gleam this info?

The current changer does not play MP3 discs (at least it does not seem to advertise the fact) while the player in the 2454 does. I am just curious to know if a new changer may include this feature.

It seems like it will be too much work to sell my 2454 and wait for the 5495. So I am thinking about going ahead and installing the 2454 but I would want to buy the changer and do the install at the same time. I'd rather not buy the changer knowing something else is over the horizon.

To be honest Neo, the best way to find out is to call Eclipse directly, they gave out a lot of info to me about the 5495.

 

don't think there's a replacement yet. The CH3083 is still on the 2005 brochure and didn't hear anything about a new CD changer at the CES booth.

 

Thanks guys. I called Eclipse like Blue suggested and their official line is no changer anytime soon. It will be summer before they even contemplate a change and who knows when release will be. At least that is what they told me.

I guess I will go ahead and get the changer.

 

Where does one get Eclipse at a good price. Any chance of a group buy?
