Default Kelyess remote entry on 95 SC400

My 95 SC400 came with a keyless remote entry system on the master key, but the one that is just a little button on the side. I want to switch it to the newer 3-button design (similar to the one that I had on my '00 RX300...), and I was wondering if anyone knows if this will work. I've searched, and I gather that I should be able to get it reprogramed for my SC, but will the trunk button work? Can the 95 SC4 trunk be remote opened? And will the panic button work? Just wanted to know before getting one...TIA

I wanna go from this.........

to this.....

Reading that review of the 95 SC400 - it did state that the trunk was remote opened - but I guess they were referring to the lever under the dash - which is still technically a 'remote'. Let me know what you find out.

This is as close as you're gonna get without going on a serious mission. Just install an aftermarket system and get all the options you want. Then graft the Lexus key into the remote.

A search normally would bring this up but the archives seem to be lost in limbo at the moment.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid... I've had 2 hours sleep. Is this remote designed to do this (graft the Lexus key to the end), or is this something someone has to 'make' it do? The Clifford website is not very helpful in this respect...

This is called a "mod". It was not designed for this application - someone with the know-how made it work. Sorry if that came out wrong, and get more sleep.

CleanSC - that's a really nice 'n clean key mod. I think I'll look into that before trying to do the Lexus reprogramming....but I will post any info regarding whether or not the newer keys can be used for the older SCs...(I'm supposed to hear back from a couple dealerships regarding this...we'll see if they really get back to me or not....

Steven:

It's not designed for it. It's a mod I did to my key and I use it on an everyday basis. Working great so far!

Everyone else, thanks for the kind words!
