Default SC Subwoofer replacement that is still available

Hi,

My subwoofer is gone. It is completely missing!

Anyway I need to get a new subwoofer for my 1998 SC400. Because of the gas tank, there is little space for the subwoofer. The most often mentioned 10 inch free-air subwoofers that will fit are the JL 10lb4 and the Pioneer TS-W245F. Unfotunately, both of these units appear to be discontinued. There aren't even any on eBay. Does abyone know of another shallow, free-air 10 inch subwoofer that will fit in the SC400?

Thanks,

Jerry

Actually, there is one on EBay right now, albeit used. Item number 7939077116.

How shallow? There are several subs that will work in an IB application, that aren't specifically branded as IB like the JL IB series is.

The specs on the speakers that fit show a mounted depth of 4-5/8 inches.

I saw that and was a bit wary. First time seller , generated user ID, no specified shipping charges, etc.

Thanks!. I sent a PM.

I went to the local Good Guys and they are clueless. They claim the only subwoofers that will work at the ones they sell in an enclosure and you have to buy a separate amp.

will need a seperate amp for sure with any aftermarket sub. ID10 and ED 10" are good choices, but you might need to fab a new cover depending on how you installed it.

I have one of the Pioneer free air 10's if anyone is interested. Don't have the model number in front of me. It was in my SC for two months until I put the Dynaudio 10 in there. It fits perfect. It is in great shape. If someone is interested let me know.
