Default Recommendations on 1990 LS400 Amp+speakers?

I have a stock 1990 LS400 Pioneer P626 Premium factory CD changer. The stocks speakers are 4" front and rears, it has an 8" subwoofer. I would like to know what can I do to make it sound descent? I tried factory 4" Nakamichi, new Pioneer, and new Infinity, the Nak. sounded a little better; the seal around the blackplastic bafflebox seemed to make the most difference. So it seems like the car needs an amp?

Any recommendations on an amp? I was also thinking of upgrading to 5.25" in all four doors and a better quality subwoofer, any recommendations? I was thinking either Boston Acoustics or Infinity. If you know of any websites that help in selecting the components that would be great.

alpine mrp-250 and 240 they are both really nice amps. it is not possible to modify the back doors box to fit 5.25 so they must b 4, i no it sux. the kicker 8in free air would be a great choice for the sub.
