So I've been researching the subject on the factory amplifier on a 94 LS400, and I get mixed results. I now own a 94 LS400 with Pioneer radio, without CD changer control. It seems to me that the radio itself is amplified, and there's no other amplifier to power the speakers, however there's a separate amp for the subwoofer. But if I had Nakamichi system, that one seems to come with an external amp that powers both the speakers and subwoofer. Is that correct?

 

Thats how I believe my Pioneer 94 LS was setup. HU powered 4 speakers, and there is a small amp in the trunk that powered the sub. Dont' know anything about nakamichi.

 

yea I believe that's how it is, my Ls has pioneer no cd, and it came with aftermarket sub run with aftermarket amp, (probably cause both stock blew)
