Hello guys, I recently went to a electronic store near my area and to my surprise he told me that ALPINE discontinued there model CVA-1005. Do you guys know anything about that?? He offered the IVA-C800 but the thing is I am getting a CD-Changer and whats the point of spending the extra money because the IVA comes with a cd-player.
Any of u guys know if Alpine is coming out with a new flip-top?
Diesel - Lost your PM so I'll shoot here. According to my friend's shop ( he sells Alpine & just got back from the CES show ), the 1005 will be around at least another year. The IVA's good for those that don't have the room for a 6 or 12 disc changer but if you're gonna add in the DVD player, it also will play a audio CD. Doesn't someone have a 1005 for sale in the Classifieds?
I happen to work for a car stereo shop that sells alpine products and I have a CVA-1005 in my Sc400. They have quit making the CVA-1005 and if you try to get one direct from alpine they are no longer avaible, however they're making 2 other new models... the CVA-1003 which should be shipping shortly (a stripped down 1005 but with XM radio and a small lcd screen when the unit is closed) and they are going to be making a CVA-1006 model. I'm not sure what has changed but we should be finding out this summer. Also they're also releasing a 6 disc DVD changer soon. Hope that Info helps, and if anyone is looking for a CVA-1005 i might be willing to part with mine to go with a newer model.
oh and forgot to mention.. the alpine DVA-5205 does not play CD-r's.... although I have heard a rumor that it will play certain cd-r's (gold backed ones) I've never been able to play one in mine though.
Thanks relexin247 for the info ! Yeah I was planning to go for the CVA-1005/NVE-N851A nav/ Alpine 6 CD changer. Oh well, I guess I have no choice but to get that IVA-C800. I figured the IVA-C800 went down in value to probably $1200-$1500.
Relexin247, quick question the IVA/NVE/6 CD changer , how much would that run me in your store?
well they quit making the cd-rom nav too... the only choice is the dvd nav and it retails for around 2k i think... i know we typically sell the iva800 for around 1600, the retail hasn't dropped any, i believe 2,000. The CHM-S624 6 disc changer we sell for $310. Hope some of this info helps.
i'm installing the DVA-5205 very soon and that would be awesome if CD-Rs could be played on it....
i know that for home DVD players, certain types of CD-R media will work for VCDs. for example, my home Sony player will only work with Memorex Platinum CD-RWs.
if it's just a matter of using the right media, i'll find it. unless someone else already has ???
DIELSMAN63,
$2450 for the IVA-C800/NAV SYSTEM/and 6-Disc Changer!! That's an INCREDIBLE DEAL!!... I'm in the market for the Alpine Equipment also. I was going to get the same thing you are looking at there!! But I was quoted at $3500 (and that is a good deal)!! Where are you getting your stuff?? I might need to give that place a call!!
Also, just for your info. Alpine is coming out with a new Video Head Unit. It's called the TME-M790. It's a 7" widescreen with fully motorized tilt AND swivel controls!! It's pretty tight sounding!! (I have yet to see pics of it) I'm thinking about getting this as it retails for $1600 like the IVA-C800 model. I need to get some more info on it tho and I will try and get back to you. I hope all goes well w/ the system install and PLEASE let me know where I can get a deal like yours!!! :-D
LexDriver, I JUST came back from the store, I made a little typo ! sorry ! I got the IVA-C800/NVE-N851A/6-CD changer for $3000 EVEN. I paid cash thats why. When I got quoted the $2450 the guy mistaken the DVD navigation system for the DVD player and thats why the price was low. But hey $3000 for all three is still an awesome deal.
That 7" monitor is just that, a monitor only... not a head unit, I saw one in person at Spring Break Nationals in daytona beach. There's no controls for a changer or any type of reciever built in, so you would still need a head unit.
Yeah that is an AWESOME DEAL!!... I would definately like to get a deal like that. The only problem is that I'm on the other side of the U.S. Do you think maybe the guy would ship them over here to me?? What do ya think that would cost me??
This is what I wanted:
IVA-C800
NVE-N851A
and Alpine Digital Eq (I don't know the number/lettering)
NO 6 DISC CHANGER!! (I'm going to put in a PS2)
Do you think he can give me a good deal?? Email me back at LexDriver19@aol.com and hopefully I can get some more info!!
