Default Alpine wont play burned VCDs...Help!!!

Okay friends I got an ful Alpine Video System and the DVD will not play the burned VCDs only Original VCDs. Now I know the the Sanyo came out with the new 10 disk CD/DVD Changer and plays pretty much every format except SVCD (Super VCD). But I need a dvd changer that will play SVCD Format simpy because I have 200+ SVCD Movies

Please help or give some advise on what product I should check out that might do the trick!

Thank you very much

i've been trying to get burned VCDs to work on my Alpine DVA forever. none of the media works that i've tried...

Alpine just released a 10 disc DVD changer this year (not sure if this is what you're referring to). it might have a different laser pickup than the single laser on the DVA. not sure...

if nothing works here is my solution: install a power inverter and plug in a Panasonic RP-91 DVD home player. it would be tough to install in your GS, but it will play anything including DVD-A...

I have had the same problem with my alphine DVD player. The reason is that it is one of the first one of the (5200 i think) aplhine DVD players. Now they have a (5205 i think) that will play the VCD's. It sucks but there is nothing you can do except get the new one.

I use to have the Alpine DVA-5205, single DVD player. It does not play any burned CDs or CD-RW. I tried various brands, creating audio and VCD discs, but had no luck. I eventually sold the unit and got one of the new Alpine DHA-S680, 6-disc DVD changers. It plays DVD, CD, VCD, CD-R, and CD-RW. The manual doesn't list SVCD. Is that Super Video-CD? If so the S680 only supports VCD version 2.0 w/playback control (PBC). So you may have to look for another brand other than Alpine for now.

Does anyone know if I will have this same problem with my Pioneer AVX P7300 DVD. I just ordered a burned VCD from e-bay, hoping to add some more current music videos to my collection. I hope it works---let me know if anyone knows of anything.

here's another burned VCD solution... if you hook up Dreamcast in your car, it can play burned VCDs using a certain program to make the discs. the framerate isn't great, but it does work ok... you can do MP3 discs withe Dreamcast too...

I fixed my problem, I just got a Sony 10 disk cd/dvd changer lol, I guess that Alpine dvd player was a waste of $, but it does look nice

I also hooked up the dreamcast in the back rest. Corey2k1 brings a great point, you can plays vcds through the dreamcast, just get the special program off AOL or any other connections you have

I will post pictures of my setup as soon as I have the time to take pics of it.

P.S. the sony changer still will not play Super VCD's
