Default Wire Problems

Guys,

I have a grounding problem and I was looking for the culprit.

Now I am not very electrically inclined so I am guessing that the black wire coming from the stereo is the ground right??

Well, I followed it down by the pedals, through the fire wall, and then it doubled back and ran up the windshield trim on the drivers side. After that I lost it.

This wire is extremely long - could this be the problem?? Where would it be going?? I have 2 amps and sub in the trunk and they are all grounded ok. Anyone have any ideas about this??

What can I do?? Could I cut it closer to the stereo and ground it. Then ground it again around the firewall for the piece I cut???

Any advice much appreciated.

Thx,

Jonny
