Default Wondering about some simple audio upgrades for my SC

Hey, for my 92 SC (stock Pioneer system), I am planning on some minor audio upgrades pretty soon. I want to use all the stock enclosures, stock headunit, with no box in the trunk or anything. Here is what I am thinking:

Replace the front 4" midranges with some 4" Infinity KAPPA 42.5i speakers (50 watt RMS)

Replace the rear 4" midranges with some 5.25" Infinity Kappa 52.5i speakers (55 watt RMS)...or maybe some 6.5" Infinity Kappa's (if they would fit??). If neither of those would fit in the rear, I could just go with some more 4" Kappas

Replace the stock 10" free-air sub with a Pioneer TS-W254F 10" free air sub (250 watt RMS)

Now, to provide power for all those fancy things, I am thinking keeping the stock amp powering the speakers, and getting a 500-600 watt mono-channel amp for the sub. But i have no clue is that is a good decision or not??

I am planning on doing the work by myself, or with the help of some friends (no audio shop!!). ANd also trying to keep it under $300, Im looking at about 250 with that above setup..I tihnk (getting most of the parts off ebay and yahoo shopping)

You guys think this is a good setup?? I want your opinions and advice please. Feel free to recommend any other speakers too

Thanks alot

Everything except the sub part sounds good. Reason I say that is because Im not sure how well the rear deck will take 5-600 watts.

I went with 4" speakers from CDT and they sound very nice for money.

try this. what i did is i replaced all of my speackers with a jl audio xr-653cs 3 way component set. the 4"mid range drop right into the front door factory enclosures the tweeters do the same as well . the 6.5 mid bass well drop into the rear deck houseings just take a dremal tool an file down the materail till it fits. an i left my factory 10"inch sub where it was i hooked up the whole system to a Power Acoustik Gothic OV2-820 all i can say is that it sounds sweet..!!
i know u said u want to still use ur stock amplifier but trust me try this set up youll thank me later you can pick up the speackers off of e-bay for about $250 and the amp for another $100. every one that has heard my set up has always asked my how many subs i got in the trunk....i love the look on their faces when i open it an there isent anything in there..

Hmm, that sounds interesting. So you replaced all four speakers with JL's, left the stock sub in place, and REPLACED the stock amp, or added the new one. Also, that amp is a 2-channel, so Im guessing it powers the speakers and not the sub..or am I wrong.

Thanks
