Default upcoming modes...opinions??

wanted to see if anyone had opinions on the following setup.....i've put it together based upon other past threads, but, am not very savvy at electronics, so if u see something i should change, please offer your opinion, w/ consideration that i'm trying to improve the overall performance of the system for $1000-1200....thanks.
1998 gs400, non nakamichi

sub: replace stock w/ a JL Audio 10ib4 free air sub $150
front speakers: replace stocks w/ Boston Acoustics Pro65 (6.5" 2 way), $350 online
rear speakers: keep stock
head: keep stock
amp: JL Audio 3004 (4 channel X 75w) w/ 2 channels bridged to the new sub and 2 to new fronts $375 online

i figure $150 for wiring, $80 to dynamat the fronts, and $350 for install of all.

this comes out to $1450, already over my budget......

Sounds like a pretty good setup. Your install should be more like 250, and dynamat more like 40. I might consider a different amp, JL are nice, but a little expensive for what you get IMO. Just keep shopping around.

Default <<<<<<DIY>>>>

If you can cut some costs by doing DIY....check they DIY section and u could spend some time and appreciate it even more knowing you did it yourself. Laways feels better that way If not you could always wait a little bit longer and save up some more b/c trust me, you don't wanna invest in a system that might not be all that you expected in the end and then have to spend more to get it up to par. Ask mean gene and percy....they are the GODS when it comes to this!!!! Be patient and do more research.

Everyone has their own taste, so ask first to see what sound it is what your looking for ie: SPL or SQL..then go from there.

Hope this helps!

Danny

for me, it's not a matter of not having the money, it's a matter of spending such a chunk of money on such a frivolous item.....money i will never see again as it doesn't raise the value of the car. i know i'll enjoy it, and that's why i want to do it, but i have a personal threshold as to how much i can throw at this thing.......everyone's personal threshold is different....mine is about $1400.
