Talking DVD on Nav question..

I was just curious, with all these posts on converting composite to component, wouldn't it be just as easy to use the RGB outputs from a home dvd player to supply the signal to the Nav screen with no modifictions.

Does anyone know if this will work? same goes for a playstion with a RGB wire output. In that case all you'll need is some sort of a source selector switch.

Any opinions are appreciated on this matter..

thanks,

It's not component video the navigation screen uses, but analog RGB with a composite sync. You can get a converter model 9A62 by Audio Authority that converts component Y Pb Pr to RGB+composite sync. Then you could plug in sources like component video X-box adapter or Sony Playstation hi-def adapter (no resolution higher than 480) or even a home DVD player, but power and shock proofing the player become a problem.
