Backup Dinger
Love my LC, but, that dinger when you put it in reverse is annoying. I mean, I know I've got it in reverse! I know big trucks have a backup horn to let you know they are backing up, but this thing is only inside the car! What?! Any way to turn that off?
I took it to the dealer today (for an oil change) and asked that they turn the dinger off while they had it. Service Rep said Yeah, I know what you mean. We'll take care of it. They came back and said We can't find where to turn that off. Humm. Anyone know details on how the dealer turns that off? Thanks much!

Its #42 on the menu list of the attached web link. Show this to your Lexus Service Advisor as only the Lexus Technician can access the menu to change the reverse chime option.

The LOF operation is usually handled by the lowest seniority beginner Tech. Learning how to
use the TechTool computer is an early lesson but not the first one. Dealers Dispatch person
should have checked that the request was handled and assigned a Journeyman to both do it
and show the Apprentice how to do it next time.

An alternative is to use the Carista adapter (https://caristaapp.com/adapter) and plug it into your OBD2 port below the steering wheel and customize the settings of your LC through their app. I did that when the dealer wanted to tack on a fee to do the software alterations ($75~). The adapter is about $40 and comes with a 1 month subscription ($10/mo) for app access via phone. You don't need the subscription to keep the changes, it just needs to be active in order to use the app and make the initial change. I set mines up and just let the subscription expire. A few months later down the line I needed to make another change to the seat-belt settings and I had to renew for another month in order to get the app access again.
