Default Got backed into.

My car got backed into.

I didn't even notice the damage till this morning.

Got a break/tear in the front fender and a nice scrape to go along with it.

Took it to a LEXUS recommended body shop.

The bumpers are not repaired when punched through.

Cost estimate:

$2k to replace and paint the bumper.

$2k to flat bed the car to LEXUS after the repair because the sensors have to be reprogrammed,

$350-500 for a PPF as it was applied to the bumper.

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car. 2K for a flatbed? That's a little steep. I had a flat tire and had the car taken to Lexus for a new $700 tire. I used a flat bed to pick my car up using AAA which costs $70 a year. This isn't a plug for AAA..hahaha

$2k to flatbed the car to LEXUS AND reprogram the sensors.

Seriously WTF.

Are you 200 miles from the dealer?

The $2k is what the body shop said it will cost for Lexus to reprogram the sensors (which is required), but the car has to be flat bedded to them.

About 3 miles away. Insurance is covering all of it.

OOOh I get it now they picked up your car with a Chinook helicopter and flown to the dealer. I would pay 2k for that.

You don't seem to get it.

About $1700 to reprogram the sensors, about $300 to flatbed the car back and forth to the dealer.

I think its safe.... to say that most LC owners feel your pain. Just the thot that someone would be careless enough to bump your car is almost unimaginable. People generally exercise a lil more care when they see one of these rare beauties in the wild. So for someone to actually hit you hard enuf to puncture your bumper is .
I generally cringe at the thot of repairing paint on this car..... Hopefully you will not have any issues with this repair.

ugh, poor Metal. The other day you just posted that near miss, and now this. Your LC is attracting too much attention (for good and bad).

'people' in this case likely didn't see the car at all.

I did not realize till I spoke with the body shop, who are recommended by the local LEXUS dealer, that if the front gets punctured, they replace the fender.

That part is not too expensive, about $400.00.

Painting, removal of the damaged one and replacing is about $1500.00. Not over the top, but not cheap either.

It was the cost of reprogramming the front sensors (mandatory) that shocked me, and the car has to be flat bedded (they won't drive it because of liability) to the facility.

That is why I have insurance. First claim in over 30 years.

I was just thankful it wasn't my NSX..........

I was told by the body shop guy I would be very happy.
I expect the LEXUS dealer would not recommend them if they weren't any good.
