Looking under the hood today, I noticed an information sticker on the front of the hood that showed an accessory battery located in the passenger side of the trunk (2022 LC500). Further it indicated the battery was Nickel-metal hydride. I couldn't find the battery. Anyone familiar with this?

Can't tell you too much because mine is a hybrid but here is a photo showing the V8 and the two batteries. Look carefully for the one on the right. Not done it myself but apparently dead easy to remove the trunk trim to get to it. BTW picture was posted on another forum and in regards the fitting of a sound system so you will not see the Pioneer amp in yours.
Hope this helps you locate the second battery.
Brinylon,
Thanks! I will dig into my trunk and look at it. I have already looked at the main battery, but don't remember seeing the other one. Strange that there doesn't seem to be any mention of this accessory battery, given that it likely will require replacement at some time.

Seeing the above two picts points out the difference in the stock sound system with the Pioneer amp and the second with upgraded system and the Levinson amp.
Bit,
Good point. That's probably why I can't find anything on this accessory battery. Because it isn't a maintenance/wearout item like the main battery.

It does seem that a "normal" Ni MH battery has a limited number of recharge cycles, but if push ever came to shove, I guess it could be replaced given it's a Panasonic unit. What I don't understand is why these secondary batteries are hardly worthy of mention and not just by Lexus, I had the same in my Jags where there was practically zero reference to a second battery and again were tucked away out of sight. It makes you wonder if there is some controlled charging regime of this battery that extends or ensures a long life, particularly when other indications would suggest they have about a 5-year life span. Mine hit five years of age this June, and so far so good.
