Technically this is from yesterday. This is just before I left the showroom and drove it down from Wichita to Austin. It might not look it, but a bit dirty because I told them not to wash it, so all they did was power wash the dirt from the Portland->KC->Wichita trip. Back home in Austin, now in for PPF, ceramic and tint, will post in owners roll call with more pics when I get it back this weekend! (Of course the dealer couldn’t resist pulling it into the showroom for the 4 days before I came for it (‘but they kept it locked!)

^^^^Yes, the wheels on SunCruzin's red LC are the base 20" cast wheels.

This was at this past weekend's IMSA Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona - I will be posting a new thread sharing a bit of my experience there.

Breakfast at Black Bear Diner in front of Cabela's in League City Texas. On my way to Galveston to catch a cruise ship. Early breakfast insures no door dings in the parking lot!

I love the silver type sheen of the Infra-Red in the right lighting conditions. It’s my understanding that Infra-Red starts with a silver base coat (for those more knowledgeable that I, please feel free to correct me).

Here's the whole process:

The luminous red paint is achieved through a meticulous paint process using four base coats of paint which are then baked twice. Layers of colored and clear coating are used to control some of the color’s reflections and establish a balance between the brightness and depth – two elements that traditionally work against each other.

For the red exterior, the factory starts with a base coat of silver and then applies a clear coat.

Then, the clear coat is covered by a translucent red coat, which is then topped with another clear coat.

The four coats of paint are baked twice to set the color.

As a result, light hitting the paint reflects off the red layer and also off the silver layer below, which adds depth and a metallic highlight to the red coloration. Prior to this new, two-color base process, the factory used base coats with the same color tone (red and red).

Just got her back from the detailer. XPEL Fusion Plus Ceramic Coating and XPEL PPF and it happened to be a sunny day so pulled into a random parking lot and took a pic. Excuse whatever it is they have going on in the background.
