Those of us who are still under Winter wraps live vicariously through those who get to drive all year round, especially the Vert crowd!

My inherent pessimism is going to show, but anything can happen to this prize before it reaches the dealer and while in transit be it damage or a total loss. With the Lexus being so unpredictable even a letter that due to circumstances beyond their control at production's end they could no longer honor the production order. In any event, if the unthinkable happens, I'd guess chances of you getting a replacement are very low at this point and that beauty in your garage would be gone.

I'm an inherent pessimist so this is my thought too. I still searched daily while my 2026 was languishing at the Jacksonville port for 7 weeks lol. Lord only knows what could happen THESE days. Hell Iran could bomb the transport ship.

Unlikely but yeah if it were me I'd hold onto my known quantity until the new one lands but to each his own. Insert 1st world problem cliche here.

 

Fully aware of the risks and to counter....what if my current LC gets into an accident in the next month? I am using the $85k+ to purchase my inbound 2026.

And in all honesty...if for some reason the vessel sinks and Lexus can't build me another then I will find another car. I am not as emotionally attached to the LC like some people as I work from home and drive less than 3k/year.

They are all just cars...and there are plenty of other options out there if I had to find a backup plan. Love the M4....the Portofino....so yeah.

 

In some ways I envy your detachment. The LC is emotional for me in ways very few cars are, even rarer and/or ultra high end ones. I love some of the late model Ferraris, McLarens, and Porsches but just for their styling & performance, not at an emotional level. I dont think I would name one of those, but Skye is my "other wife" lol. Good luck with your sale & your inbound 2026!

 

I spend most of my disposable income on traveling. If I developed a health condition that precluded my ability to fly long-haul I would probably cry and become depressed. THAT is my passion.

Cars are fun, though.

 

I fully agree....I love my machines but I'm not emotionally attached to them, like that. Like you, travel is where I spend a HUGE chunk of dough. Edingburgh and some Northern parts of England, (New Castle), are my more recent playgrounds. If Delta One ain't showing; I ain't going! 😛



And whilst I enjoy EVERY amenity, my sidekick; sleeps the entire flight. 😞
I could really save if I just put her in coach, she would likely not know the difference! 🤣
