LOL. I just cannot decide what to do with them. Definitely do not want to leave them chrome. Had them PPF'd thinking I'd leave them chrome, hated it. Wrapped the orange vinyl over the PPF, it was too much. I then used Plastidip Luxury Metal Sapphire Black to paint over the orange vinyl and give it a satin metallic black finish. Didn't come out great, probably because I was spraying dip over ceramic coated vinyl.
So today, I added ANOTHER layer to the plethora of vinyl and plastidip already on them, and wrapped them in this "Electroplated Black Chrome Forged Carbon Fiber" vinyl. The forged look matches my exhaust tips so neither is entirely out of place.
I think ultimately I want the factory inspiration black chrome ones and I'd probably be happiest with those, but I also don't really want to spend $500+ on the pair. So for now, this is the newest look. I don't love it but I also don't hate it. I have yet to see it out in the sun since it's pouring now, will check it out tomorrow.
Just picked up the car this morning from “A Buff and Beyond”, near Princeton NJ, who gave her a paint correction, two coats of Gyeon’s finest and the lightest window tint they offer (50%)
Was invited to a car show / customer appreciation event at ppf installer. Some nice lambos, a few ferraris, porsches (959 and gt3 rs were beautiful) and vettes (man those things are everywhere!). Only a few people knew what the LC even was, otherwise it was fun hearing people say "is that a LFA?" or telling them about the LC in general.
I used to have an orange 1M coupe, just like that (but RHD) - huge fun, but had to go after it attracted thieves…
Thanks for the kind comments - this car looks great in every shade! Have had a few compliments from strangers today… on the car!
Agree wholeheartedly it looks great in many different exterior colors. I saw a Cloudburst gray LC 500 very recently and it is very nice indeed up close. But there’s something about the Nori green that seems particularly/uniquely Japanese aura special to me.
