Default My dilemma buy now or wait

I have made the decision to buy a new LC 500 convertible. I would really like a front parking camera and possibly a touch screen. Not having these features is not going to stop me from buying but they sure would be nice. What do you think the odds are that Lexus will add these features in 2022. Should I buy a 2021 model now or wait for the 2022 models to arrive. When would we know the changes that Lexus plans to make?

I haven't seen any previews of such nice features
I just did a Maritz survey and there were ample opportunities to point to the issues with the Infotainment, but no ability to provide text based input of desires changes/added features
As has been said many times here, changing from the current system to a touch based one in this generation of the car is unlikely
I do think the camera feature is doable, Lexus just has to want to and we have no idea if they do at this point (kind of strange that they missed this feature, my 2014 Infiniti has it)

My take is slightly different. The LS is built on the same platform as the LC. The LS changed to a touch screen this year. So, IMO, it's doable for the LC. Same for the front camera. But, at this point in time - who knows

And - Welcome to the site lot's of GREAT information here and GREAT folks to share it with

I ordered my 2021 LC coupe in May 2020. Don't know when the 2022 LC will be available but the forum will alert you for sure.

It's not that long in the grand scheme of things and the features you want are possible. If you order the 2021 and a few months later

the 2022 comes along with said features you will be disappointed you didn't wait. My 2 cents. You will love the car either way!!!

I agree. I am going to wait until I know what changes are made for 2022.

Sometime new/improved features are a defensive move

The LS is supposed to be a bigger volume car for Lexus but the lack of the V8 has crippled it against MB S class, BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 (the twin turbo V6 from the LS would have helped the GS a ton, too bad they didn't drop that in instead of dropping the car altogether)

The LC gets great reviews and the convertible has punched more sales tickets (so not at important to fix things on this car, especially as Lexus is short on products like a new higher end SUV and something all electric (both coming))

To have a touch screen on the LC the screen would no longer be recessed which to me wouldn't look as good.

I agree that a touch screen would change the dash. The front parking camera should be an easy change.

Buy now and enjoy. The things that REALLY matter (fabulous looks and great engine) won't be different. I don't understand all the fuss over the electronic gadgets??

Drive the car and enjoy the driving. Isn't that what the car is for anyway?? If not, get a new cell phone, fabulous stereo system, 75 inch Samsung, comfortable recliner and stay in the living room. That would be much cheaper and you won't be fretting over 'no touchscreen', 'track pad sensitivity', 'surround sound seems weak', 'is my seatbelt twisted', blah, blah, blah . . . . . .

....and there is always the chance that 'The Vid' catches you and you'll never have the chance to drive the car -

I know what you're saying and agree with most of what you say but a front camera with surround view could be important.

You want the car to stay perfect and if you're not very careful could easily pull in too far, scraping the front end.

Yes the camera is of more important to me than the trackpad.. I am looking into seeing if the aftermarket may have something I could use. I have a tight garage and my depth perception is not 100 percent.
