Removing the vacuum line to the intake flaps have been tired over the years by owners of the ISF. That mod has proven to cost HP.

I would never own a BMW again even though I love them.

I have an M850ix convertible, the latest in a series of BMWs. The 800 series has been plagued by software issues, though most have been wrestled to the ground by now, and the M versions have been plagued by corrupted A/C systems.

That said, once my software issues were resolved (mostly by me), I've had no adverse experiences with the 850 and just a couple with its BMW predecessors. The 850 really is a super automobile. I thought it was the most stylish and modern around, until I saw the LC 'vert.

Wondering about the basis of your comment. Reliability? Trade-in value? Something else?

Same reason every other long term smart BMW owner realizes: their reliability sucks and their longevity is suspect. After 8 plus brand new BMWs in my long life, its time to tinker less and smoke more weed in my spare time.

Now that your problem with your BMW is "fixed", enjoy the next few hours until your next "adverse experience". Hopefully near a garage

I have a 2007 Lexus IS that has never had a part rplaced other than brakes. AAA is a waste with lexus.

Hopefully The balance of my days on earth will have nothing to do with car repairs other than washing or oil changes. That means Lexus or Mercedes

Some folks like to fiddle in a service department over and over, others in a Smoke Shop. No more BMWs for me.

I liked both the LC & the BMW M850i. So I bought both.

Good move. Driving it half the time reduces dealer visits by 50% and adds 50% to the life of the car.

As much as I like the LC, the lease rates for the m850 and M8 are hard to ignore. I know everyone rags on bmw reliability but I never had issues with the 3 I've had, plus leasing never really have to worry about things. And it's not like the LC500 has been completely bulletproof.

He does make a good point. Ive been looking at the 2021 E63S for a daily driver and winters and the Lexus convert for summer. My kid is freaking out, Dad you are old, why would you spend 250K on cars? Hehehe, dont count your pennies my child, you might get iron. Maybe I should finance with insurance LOL

Those of you with the 'vert, can you fit golf clubs in the trunk? I looked at the MB E53 today and it looked tight, the BMW 850 had no issues (brought my bag to the dealer).

Thanks.

I don't golf

It looks like it would be tight

The trunk is shallow
