I own a 2018 infrared LC with Carbon Fiber Roof and Door sills. I wanted to add other carbon fiber trim to my car and saw the carbon fiber side mirror covers that other members have added. I did some research and found more complete carbon fiber mirrors that have two carbon fiber pieces included per side. I found these on EBay from Tuningstarltd. He buys actual Lexus parts and covers them. The additional freight charge had these parts to me in Chicago area in 5 days from Bulgaria.
i am attaching pictures. I will have these installed at my local body shop as I do not want to risk cracking my mirror glass. And I will have them wrapped to prevent stone chips.
I will follow up once installed on my car.
How does he cover them???
Is this simply a 'carbon fiber' simulated vinyl wrap applied to the factory Lexus part? If it is true carbon fiber I'm curios to the method used. Do you have any knowledge of that??
If it is the vinyl wrap them it would be MUCH cheaper to have it installed onto your stock mirrors by a reputable firm.
It’s actual carbon fiber. It was around $50 or so for shipping. The vinyl ones are $40. These are $900.
i did get bad news from the body shop installing them. Both mirrors are drivers side. I had to pick up my car. I’m waiting to hear from the supplier. Let’s see how he handles this. I want expedited shipping of passenger side and a return label for my extra drivers side one.

Thanks.
This is the detailed explanation of how he does the mirrors. I can see they are real carbon fiber. Look just like my roof of my LC

It looks as if these are skinned in carbon fiber. They apply a sheet of carbon fiber over the stock plastic part then apply resin.
