Default Active Rear Wing Loud Closing Sound. Is it normal?

Since the first time I drove my LC i noticed that whenever the active rear wing closes it makes a bit of noticeable loud sound like if someone slightly hit your car from the back

Its noticeable that in couple of instances the passengers stopped the conversation we were having and asked where the sound came from?!

Do you guys have the same issue? Is it normal? Or do I have to go to the dealer to have it checked?

Hmmm .. then I definitely need to have it checked ... I kept telling myself that this sound can't be "Takumi" approved!

I only hear a very small thump if the windows are closed and no radio playing, otherwise nothing.

I get the exact same thing as SuperGT. But tbh, I leave mine up all the time - so the active function is turned off, and I have a "permanent" wing in the rear.

All this, while you're stopped, with the car turned on (engine running).

First, make sure to press the rear spoiler button on the center, to pop out the wing.

Back button on steering wheel > Settings > Vehicle Settings > Rear wing > Switch to off

This way, the wing will stay up, and not have the "active" functionality turned on.

Let me know how it works!

I also get a thump when it closes. Don't particularly like it, but I presumed it was normal. Please let us know if the Dealer says it is not. THX

I also could hear the thump but like guanche2k9 I set it to stay up in a fixed position. Not necessarily because of the thump but because the car looks cooler to me that way..

When I purchased my LC I thought there was something wrong with it.

I thought something was loose underneath when stopping.

I took to the dealer and they rode it in the parking lot and no noise could be heard. I was p*ssed.

Of course it wasn't happening because they never rode it above the minimum speed required to deploy.

It took me a while to figure out it was the wing banging closed. When I am in the city, I just turn it off.

Just recently learned here that you can turn it off while deployed.

Live and learn.
