Installation is pretty straightforward, the exhaust muffler section comes off, the driveshaft, rear axle, and rear steer module (if you have one) is disconnected and the differential is swapped. Everything goes back in the same way it came out. The LC500h differential housing is completely identical to the LC500. The differential/torsen is completely mechanical, there are no electronic elements to worry about. No error codes, no weird behaviour from the car. Everything feels stock, and works without issue.\

Do either of you two guys have an idea of how long it took your installer to install the diff❓ My installer looked it up and says 15 hours I can't imagine it would take that long
Just talked to my Lexus parts contact - That's the way the diff is supposed to come from Lexus - sans the plug and gasket Very Strange IMO I ordered the parts from him for $8.22,
was waiting for these last few parts to come in. New cushion mounts, upper stoppers, bolts and filler plugs and gasket. Dealership installing next week (mod friendly dealer). After whatever break in period, I Plan to do a full comparison on youtube with dragy times, data logging, mpg test, seeing what mph the 2 diffs max out at for each gear, and if needed going into the stock tune to change what mph the car shifts at when in auto. Then of course just ripping through the gears on both setups to hear how much different it is having to shift more often.
I got mine installed this morning. breplica is correct; it's not a night and day difference. The regular driving feel is still the same. The car is more frisky. Neither I nor the LC is very good at drag starts. So, I did not measure 0-60. I did however, measure, with dragy, 60-100. Before the change I ran 6.25, after the change 5.95. My LC has a lightweight crank pulley, PPE headers, dual-mode exhaust, and lightweight Vossen wheels in addition to the new diff.
Just got my car back the install was a success. I was told I have to take it easy for 1k miles so i’ll try to knock that out in a week so I can finish off the comparison youtube video. I went the route of dealership install for anyone wanting a rough estimate. I believe my dealership is 150 an hour. When buying the diff, the techs told me to buy an RC F “cushion mount” as well. Wasn't sure why until now. On the LC theres an unused hole on the passenger side for another cushion mount. (They did this on a previous LC not too long ago). So we replaced the small rubber dampener. Will post back when the vids done!
Posted my comparison on youtube. If you just want to know if it made any difference on my car i tested 45-120 and 60-130. 45-120 reduced by .46s and 60-130 reduced by .47s. Also roughly compared top speed for each gear and showed the mph difference. Then lastly showed rpm differences when cruising at 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 mph between the 2 diffs.
Maybe you folks have been reading about how hot it's been in Arizona Unlike Mr. Rabbit, When I first ran the diff, it was in the heat of a 115ºday and I believe that's why I was not impressed. High heat is not conducive to performance. Now we are in October, and while our temperatures are still setting records and are still in the triple digits I am noticing more vitality than previously When the temps moderate, I will try again I'm sure things will improve
