Default Wheel/Tire Storage & Transport

I’m moving my wheels from my current basement to the basement at my other house while I sell this one and look for a new place, so they’ll be moved several times.

They came in flimsy bags from the wheel shop, so I originally bought some covers for storage, but they weren’t the right design. Now I’m looking for something with handles that won’t give out under the weight and that fully covers the wheel.

Ideally, I’d want either full coverage from the bag itself or a setup that includes a separate face protector (not just an open-sided cover).
Some of the options I’ve seen have openings on both sides, which I don’t want unless there’s something protecting the face.

Does anyone have recommendations for something that fits our OEM 21-inch wheels and tires well and offers good protection? They may end up under a deck at some point, but I’m trying to keep them indoors if possible. Thanks.

Couple of options:

I’m not sure how much protection you want or need. I’m using these to store my winter/summer set. I got the L(29-31.75”) with plenty of room left. They are very sturdy and you can lift them by the handle without worrying. If you want more protection on the wheel face, cut a circular cardboard and place it on the face.

maybe go to tire/wheel shop that sells rims. They might have some shipping boxes left over after a sale..My stock wheels are sitting in the boxes that my aftermarket wheels came in.

Most of the shipping boxes are for the rims. With the tire mounted on, they may be too small.
it’s also easier to move them around using the handle on the tire storage bag.

Look into a set of RV tire covers. They come in all different sizes and are rugged weatherproof on the outside plus soft on the inside.

The covers I bought last time were intended for RV use. They seem to be more for cosmetic purposes, covering the wheel and tire while mounted on the RV with the tire sitting on the ground.

After I bought black covers I realized they’re the same ones you have, just in gray. It might just be the pictures, but the fabric looks a little different.

Based on the sizing chart they recommended the medium. They fit nice and tight on the rears with a little slack on the fronts.
Good to go!

if ur worried about the face of rim U could cut a pool noodle to length and make it circular..place it under the fabric.

I intentionally put the wheel face at the opening where the material bunches up since it adds a little extra protection. Plus, I can easily take a peek at the face if needed.
