I purchased a 2025 LC convertible from a Lexus dealer in Palm Springs Ca and need to enclose transport it to Gurnee IL
I have transported my 2018 Lexus LC back in 2020 from Vegas to Gurnee IL back in 2020. I know I do not want to go through a broker but the actual company that is moving my car.
I used Intercity Lines before and they were great. But expensive. Does anyone have other recommendations for transport companies you have used that are not brokers? I’ll Ike to comparison shop this.
I used Autosled to have mine shipped from the dealership in NC to IL. They are a broker that hires the driver. Took two days in an enclosed trailer—no issues at all in my specific case.
I was involved in a project with this transporter and I believe it was a Ford F550, I don’t know my Fords. The owner had a bathroom installed in the back of the Ford.
I used Intercity Lines as well earlier this year, to ship my 25 Vert round trip fromHouston to Palm Springs, CA. They are top notch and pricey when you comparison shop, but well worth it in my opinion. In doing my research, I found out that Jay Leno uses them exclusively to transport his vehicles. They picked it up on time, documented the outside of the car with photos, put a blanket over the car when it went inside the carrier. Took a few days to deliver and the drivers were excellent and easy to work with. It also helped that I keep an AirTag in my car on a regular basis and I was able to track the location of the car for the most part.
I highly recommend them.
All enclosed haulers are pretty much the same and just about all of the drivers will take great care of your car because they want a nice tip at delivery. Don't overpay. As long as they are licensed and registered with the DOT, they all have the same type of insurance if God forbid something went wrong.
Like I previously stated, just about all of the enclosed carriers are the same. A broker will just put your information on a national loads board that auto carriers around the US are part of. If they have one of their trucks in your area on the day you're looking for pick up they will contact the broker and ask for the job. Just don't overpay with brokers. Whatever deposit they ask for is what goes to the broker so don't go with one that wants more than $50 - $100 dollars. They really aren't doing much.
