Default USB A to USB C Apple Carplay

Hi Guys,

I got myself an iPhone 16 Pro and it has a USB input, I cannot seem to get it to work with the LC

Previously, the USB A (car) is connected to my lightning cable (also USB A), works (but the GPS is not so accurate)

Now, the USB A (car) is connect to my USB A to USB C cable, my iPhone 16 can charge but will not launch Apple CarPlay

Any advice?

Make sure you're using a proper data cable—not just a charging-only one. Also, the bottom USB port seems to be the only one that works with CarPlay in the LC based on my experience and what others have reported.

Default Carplay

This is what I use...
motorola ma1 carplay, if you Google it you will see it everywhere. I got mine from Amazon. It makes it all wireless and all the extra controls work perfectly.

Hello friend, I am also from Singapore. I am using a USB C iphone 15 pro in my car (wired USB A to USB C to my phone) and it's worked flawlessly for nearly 2 years. I would check to make sure I am using the correct port in the car and if so, try swapping to another USB A to C cable, some cables can be finicky with data transfer. If you need some in person help or to see it working in my car, you're welcome to DM me and I can show it to you in person. Cheers

For a brief time, I used a Carlinkit 4.0 on my LC. Don't see why Carlinkit 5.0 would not work I ultimately switched to an Ottocast Play2Video. The reason for the switch was because none of the Carlinkit's three resolutionsfilled the LC screen properly The Ottocast units' resolution conforms to the LC screen just fine

Yup, I use a 3.0. Works fine, just like wired with the exception of the start-up/connection screen, which disappears in a few seconds
