CarPlay Headaches:

I had an iPhone 10R w the lighting connector. I used a USB A to Lightning cable, and everything worked fine for years.
A few months back i get iPhone 16 Pro and used a USB A to USB C cable. Works for a few days and now I cannot access Carplay from USB1 inside the front console. It also does not charge any longer..
USB2 in console works but only appears to charge the iPhone. No access to CarPlay..

I think i saw some doc someplace that warned about using USB A port to charge a USB C iPhone. It might draw too much power and cook the USB A power supply.
Any thoughts on repairing this dilemma?
Could i use a wireless CarPlay adapter to rectify this problem?
What about using other USB A located in the car .... such as back seat?
