That is perfectly logical, heavier drivers causing the visible impressions in their seats. So are convertible owners as a group bigger and heavier than coupe owners? Your reasoning would suggest that they are.

It looks like issue can affect coupes as well (source):


Incidentally, it seems to also affect the leather seats on RCFs, unfortunately (source):


Really curious to know if there may be a correlation with seat time and body weight.

Normal for the convertibles for sure. I don't know why they are easier to see on the covertible seats. They all end up looking like this regardless of rider "size". I suspect tthose little tags probably have some tacky adhesive to keep them from moving around and end up imprinting on the leather.
