When I took delivery of my coupe, I was told that I could get it hand washed once a week through the Lexus service department.
So the first time I took it in, I asked for a hand wash. They said OK.
The second time I took it in, I asked for a hand wash. "Oh, we don't do hand washes. Only machine washes." Then what the heck did y'all do the first time???
I just hand wash it myself now. Which I seem to have to do fairly frequently, as the monkeys that cut the lawn where I work cover all of the cars in a not-so-fine layer of grass every time. They've been talked to about it, but monkeys will be monkeys.
That in and of itself might force me into early retirement.

Early retirement? I highly recommend it! Although I do have empathy for those who sit stopped in traffic twice a day……
I support avoiding risk
My my local servicing dealer has been great plus I am not as careful as some other folks (not I to film, ceramic coating)
I am getting my garage set up to do some washing in the near future.

I get the not into film, unless you have a new car. For a multi year old car if you're into waxing then applying a ceramic coating certainly helps. I recently put in the work and it's made a significant difference as far as appearance, protection and ease of washing. It's definitely worth the effort.
@flowrider - I agree; I was 'forced' into early retirement 10 years ago @ 55 years old and have never looked back! If anyone else has the method and means, I highly recommend stepping away from the daily grind as soon as it makes sense to do so.

I walked away at 60 1.5 yrs ago. Wife left Corporate last year at 56 (downsized). I'm happy with no schedule and doing what I want (like getting in the Vert and just driving). She can't sit still so she started another business. Biggest issue with early retirement is Healthcare, good luck figuring that into a budget. "Open Market" Healthcare is exorbitantly expensive, especially when you still have children to cover. But after +32yrs at my last company, no way I'm going back.
